Equipment manufacturer: field technician copilot
A technician copilot on ruggedized handhelds, with a local knowledge pack for remote sites and symptom-first diagnostics tied to live parts inventory.
The typical starting point.
Field-service organizations often depend on a small group of senior engineers who hold the institutional memory, and a much larger group of regional technicians who rely on them. Senior engineers end up answering the same fault-code questions many times a day.
Desktop service portals with no offline mode do not work at remote sites such as mines, plants and utility installations. Technicians fall back on printed binders, photos of manual pages, or phone calls to a senior engineer.
Retirement adds urgency. When experienced engineers leave faster than new ones can be trained, the organization needs a way to make tacit knowledge available to every technician in the field.
How Klivo approaches it.
Klivo ships a field-service copilot that runs on the technician's ruggedized handheld, with a curated knowledge pack, symptom-first diagnostics, and a connected mode for ERP parts lookup and senior escalation when coverage is available.

Offline-capable knowledge pack
A compressed pack containing service manuals, the parts catalog and the most relevant historical work orders for the technician's product families. It syncs whenever connectivity is available and falls back to the last good snapshot when offline.
Symptom-first diagnostics
The technician describes the observed fault in plain language or picks from a guided symptom tree, and the agent returns the most likely root causes, ranked using historical repairs of the same model.
ERP-connected parts flow
When a diagnosis points to a replacement part, the agent checks availability at nearby depots through the ERP and places a reserve-for-pickup hold with one confirmation.
Senior escalation with context
For cases the copilot cannot resolve, the technician taps escalate and the agent composes a structured packet for the senior engineer: unit serial, fault history, steps attempted and parts status.
What this deployment is designed to achieve.
Technicians fix more faults on the first visit, even at sites without connectivity. Senior engineers spend less time on repeat phone questions and more on engineering, and their knowledge stays with the organization as the workforce changes.
